WIKE: THE DE FACTO GOVERNOR-GENERAL!

WIKE: THE DE FACTO GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF THE FCT AND RIVERS STATE.

Chinua Achebe wrote in his fiction book, Things Fall Apart, "those whose palm kernels were cracked for them by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble".

In Nigeria political space today, Barr. Nyesom Wike is one of the biggest beneficiaries of democracy since the birth of this republic, I stand to be corrected. That is why I keep wondering each time he fights both his real and imaginary enemies on all fronts. Sometimes, I ask myself, is this the way a man should say thank you Lord for what you have done for me? Why the fight over vanity? In the book of Ecclesiastes 1:14, King Solomon wrote, I have seen all the works that are done under the sun, and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

If I were Barr. Nyesom Wike, I would quitely eat the palm-kernels cracked for me by my benevolent spirit. Here is a man who rose from obscurity to prominence. From a Motor Park manager, he became the Local Government Chairman of Obio-Akpor, thereafter, he was made the Chief of Staff to former governor Rotimi Amaechi, from COS, he was appointed by former President GEJ as Minister of Education, thereafter, he served a two term as governor of Rivers State and presently, he is the the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT which can best be described as a quasi-state. Wow! Now, what else does this man want? It is understandable if one says "man by nature is insatiable", must a man's insatiability be taken of out of control? There is an adage in Africa that says, "when you give a rope to a foolish man to keep, he would commît suîcide with it." Wike goes away with all his irrational and rabble-rousing attitude because the institutions that are set aside to checkmate the excesses of both state and non-state actors are tied to his apron spring.
You don't gift a goat to a man and hold unto the rope!

Wike should let Fubara and Rivers people breathe.
